Workout Of The Day
 

 Fartlek Training

I thought we might just do a Fartlek session based on heart rate, just to loosen those legs up :)

Warm up with a 5 minute walk, then a 3 minute jog. Do a quick stretch.

Start with a 5 minute steady run, then run hard until your heart rate reaches 170 beats per minute, once the 170 is reached slow down (walk or slow jog) until you hit 140 beats per minute. Repeat for 30 minutes.

Finish with a 5 minute walk.

If you don't have access to a heart rate monitor, simply take your pulse for 6 seconds and aim for the following values:

170bpm = 17 beats in 6 seconds
140bpm = 14 beats in 6 seconds

*But try to get a heart rate monitor for this one!*
